Power Trips and Magic Tricks

So its been 3 weeks since I have been a full timer at school. For the most part I really like the schedule. I am home in the evenings to have dinner with the family and to put the kids to bed leaving a little bit of quiet time at the end of the day for John and I.
Today though, was a rough day! Mr Robert, my new teacher, is a bit of a pill. He is a great teacher-when he's teaching- and is pretty thorough. I have learned a great deal already in the last couple of weeks from him, comma but Our first classroom day with him, he gave this grand introduction telling us about himself and giving us his rules and letting us all know that he is going to be treating us all with respect and so he wants our respect in return.
Well, thus far I am not feeling the R.E.S.P.E.C.T.!! It seems that every time I turn around he is lecturing the class. I know that it is not me that he is speaking to so I try to let it go and get my work done.
Well, today I have to say that I am SICK of the power trips. I feel like he feels that because he is the teacher that he has some right to talk to us as if we are children. "Hello Bucko! I am only 10 months your junior!! I ALSO deserve to be treated as an adult!!" I know that there are problem students in the class who DO need to be lectured, why cant them be pulled aside so that the rest of us don't have to hear it? Its a major downer dude!!! AND for those of us who are staying on task, would it kill him to be a little complimentary?? Instead, he finds fault in our moving on. Like today, we were readying ourselves to do a mock curl reformation on our Amber manikins. He tells us that he wants us to really water down the cholesterol that we use (its like a conditioner) and then he leaves. Well instead of sitting there, we get some cholesterol and water it down. When he gets back about 15 minutes later he says, "I didn't tell you to get any cholesterol yet! And you guys have got WAY to much!" Hello you left! And everyone around me only put about a 1/4 cup in their bowls and filled the rest with water! Whats your prob Bob???
Oh and he disappears ALL of the time!!!! One minute he is there and the next he is gone, like magic, but not the entertaining kind. How are we supposed to get anything done if he is not there to give us direction???? Whenever he left the classroom he was gone for about 20-30 minutes at a time. Yet we have to ask him to do this or do that. I feel as if I am 2 and if I get caught in the hall after using the restroom, I am going to be put into time out! ARGHHH!!!! I am so frustrated!! It was never this why in Ms Jeannine class! Mr. Robert, maybe you need to go to her and get some advise!

Where has the TIME gone??

Holy Crow its been FOREVER since I've blogged!!
So much has happened! Where to begin??

MARCH:
John's surprise 30th birthday party. For all who know John, know he is way into comics. So his birthday was of coarse a Super Hero themed! It was a blast- good food+ good company= Great time!
John tested for Metro Police and passed all of the first tests so now we wait!

April:
April was a big month for me at school. We had a NO HAIR contest with our Sam mannequin heads and I took 1st place. It was so much fun and everyone did such a wonderful job. On the 29th of April my class moved up from freshmen to juniors and went out on the clinic floor to work on real live people!! One word to some up the experience so far, AWESOME!!!!!

Vanessa's, Joie's, Elisha's

Brandy's, Selest's, Lori's

Mine, Danielle's, Shanti's

Katie's, Benita's, and Jessica's

May:
We went camping with the kiddos for Memorial Day weekend up at Mt. Charleston and went hiking and played catch.

I was released from Young Women's after serving them for 3 1/2 years and called to the nursery. I am sad to go, but I had a good run and the Bishop gave me the go ahead for girls camp so I'm excited for that, and happy to be able to serve where ever I'm needed.

June: Major bummer of a month!!!! John didn't pass the Back Ground check with Metro this time around, so he has to wait 2 years before he can try-out again. They couldn't give us the reason why they just said that he could try out again in 2 years. WHICH TOTALLY STINKS!!!!! John still hasn't been able to find work. Stressed does not even summarize how we feel right now.

A few days later we found out that my Uncle Charlie passed away- he was only 38 and he died of a heart attack! John, my parents, grandparents, and sister Jami went up to Oregon to help my Aunt Wendy and my cousins, Brian and Kimmy, with the funeral and to help her move back down here so that they could be with family.

One cool thing did happen this month though, I gave the office manager, Zena at my dentist a facial and she gave my a $40 tip and said that I have "Healing Hands" So anyone want a facial?? If not, I can take care of all of your hair care needs, give you a Mani pedi, and wax your brows, pits and more...

This last week hasn't been so bad. Owen is potty training. It only took seeing his younger cousin-who's not even 2 yet-go potty, to convince him to go on the BIG BOY POTTY. He is doing fairly well. Not many accidents. I was feeling adventurous this morning and took him to church with only his briefs-no pull ups or diapers for back up- and he stayed dry. Hopefully in 2 more weeks we can say good bye to diapers!!

Forecast of things to come in July. I am switching to days at school starting on the 6th. this moves up my grad month to April of '10 instead of October. I am so looking forward to being able to get done with school sooner rather than later. Big thank you to Johns Mom for being willing to watch my little ones. I am not looking forward to the DRAMA that comes with day- it will be like high school all over again.

I leave for Girls camp tomorrow afternoon. I truly love all of the YW in our stake and in my ward especially so I am really happy to go and spend camp with them.

Well that about sums it up!

Pay It FORWARD!

So, here's how this game works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or be lazy and copy and paste like I did). Then come back, let me know you're going to play (either leave me your email in the comment or email me jphcdavis@embarqmail.com with your address ) and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember, only the first three get a gift, so you have to be super fast!

I Just Want To BE OK!!

I couldn't of said it better myself, thank you Ingrid!!

I love Ingrid Michaelson! She always seems to be able to sing about how I am feeling. This month has seemed to be a bit of a roller coaster for our family. We have had wonderful highs, but with that comes really low lows!
Today our roller coaster took us to a new level of low. John sadly was laid off. I cant say that we did know that it would come, but it was still unexpected.
We have been very blessed for John to have been working this long. Everyone except for John and the Foreman on his crew were laid off back in November. So to have been able to work and maintain a 40hr work week for the most part for the past 3 1/2 months has been an incredible blessing. Now we join the millions of others who are out of work and seeking employment. Our hope is that at least within a month he will be working again or I will be be washing windshields at the stop lights. Sorry all I can do is laugh and pray for something to turn up!!

By the way if you haven't heard it already, you need to listen to #2 on my play list! I tell ya, it's like she is in my head!!!

The Aliens Have Landed! dun dun dun

Our family loves to go on walks, and about a year and a half ago we extended our walks to the desert just outside our neighborhood. After we did this, Bradley started to talk about "THE ALIENS" John and I were so thrown off and confused, we had no idea what he was talking about until we went for another walk in the desert. So then of coarse John and I have fed into his imagination and started to point out things like a garden hose and said that "it must be an alien baby and when it rained it must have gotten stuck and was accidentally left behind." Or the strange forms in the dirt must be where their ship had landed. Its great because Jaden has also made some findings of her own. I love listening to the creative things that my kids come up with and watch them grow and stretch their imaginations. I hope that this never ends.

on the left is the "ALIEN SPAWN" a.k.a. garden hose and
on the right is Jaden's discovery, alien markings on the rock. I wonder what it means?????
